ABVP Pays Tribute to Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar on 68th Death Anniversary in Sri Vijaya Puram

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, observed the 68th death anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar with a solemn ceremony at the Ambedkar Auditorium in Aberdeen Bazaar. Marked as Samajik Samarasta Diwas, the event celebrated Dr. Ambedkar’s enduring ideals of social justice and unity.

The program began with a welcome address by Dr. Kandi Muthu, ABVP’s Vibhag Pramukh, who highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s vision for an equitable society. Mr. Tejinder Singh, City President, reflected on Dr. Ambedkar’s lifelong efforts to uplift marginalised communities and promote justice.

Dr. Gagan Deep, Study Circle Pramukh of ABVP, delved into the personal struggles faced by Dr. Ambedkar and his remarkable journey as a nation-builder. He noted Ambedkar’s transformative contributions to India’s social, political, and economic progress.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Santosh Kumar Jha, Vice President of Dakshin Bengal, delivered an insightful talk on Dr. Ambedkar’s pivotal role in drafting the Indian Constitution. Dr. Jha emphasised how Ambedkar’s vision of equality and justice formed the bedrock of India’s democratic framework.

ABVP student karyakartas also shared their thoughts on Dr. Ambedkar’s values and his influence in shaping modern India. Mr. Rajeev Tiwari, City Vice President, highlighted how the Constitution reflected Dr. Ambedkar’s dedication to safeguarding fundamental rights for all, particularly marginalised communities.

The ceremony concluded with a floral tribute at the Ambedkar statue and a vote of thanks by Mr. Satyajit Halder, Secretary and National Executive Council member of ABVP Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The gathering was a heartfelt acknowledgment of Dr. Ambedkar’s monumental legacy and his relentless pursuit of equality and justice.

ABVP reaffirmed its commitment to upholding Dr. Ambedkar’s vision by inspiring the youth to strive for a just and inclusive society, echoing his principles of social harmony and national unity.
