AC South Andaman Visits Little Andaman, Swears in New Pradhan; Tackles Key Community Cases and Concerns

Assistant Commissioner of the South Andaman District, Mr. Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, conducted an official visit to Little Andaman with the primary purpose of administering the oath of allegiance to Ms. Seuli Mandal, newly elected Pradhan of Ramkrishna Pur village. This ceremony marked Ms. Mandal’s formal induction into office, setting the stage for her upcoming term.

Mr. Chamadia’s visit also included sessions to resolve multiple cases and provide oversight on important community matters. Notably, the Assistant Commissioner addressed 29 ongoing cases related to Unnatural Death, facilitating timely hearings to support families and communities involved. Cases concerning senior citizen welfare were also reviewed, with both appellants and respondents present to ensure a fair process. Additional matters addressed by the Sub-Divisional Officer included the First Revenue Appeal, land occupation disputes, and tenant-related issues, all aimed at fostering peace and order in the area.

During his visit, Mr. Chamadia personally met with complainants under the Senior Citizen Act of 2007. Listening to their grievances firsthand, he provided solutions to safeguard the welfare of the petitioners.

The Assistant Commissioner also stopped at the Primary Health Centre in R.K. Pur, where he discussed operational challenges with the Medical Officer. The interaction highlighted key areas requiring support to improve service delivery, reflecting the administration’s commitment to bolstering healthcare infrastructure on the island. 

The visit underscored the district administration’s ongoing dedication to addressing local governance, senior citizen welfare, and healthcare in Little Andaman.
