In a bid to enhance connectivity to Little Andaman, the Directorate of Shipping Services has announced the launch of an additional ferry service starting March 6, 2025. A Speed Boat with a capacity of 75-100 passengers will now operate every Thursday, catering to the transportation needs of commuters.
According to the schedule, the vessel will depart from Phoenix Bay Jetty at 6:15 AM and return the same day to Sri Vijaya Puram from Little Andaman at 1:00 PM.
This initiative aims to improve accessibility and convenience for both residents and visitors. The new service will supplement the existing larger vessel, which currently operates three weekly trips to Little Andaman on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
