Adoption Awareness Program Educates Community on Legal Procedures and Responsibilities

The State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA), operating under the Directorate of Social Welfare, recently hosted an adoption awareness program at the Anganwadi Center in Teylerabad-III. The event aimed to engage and educate numerous women from the community about the process and significance of legal adoption.

Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director of Social Welfare, led the discussion, emphasising the importance of legal adoption. He elucidated the legal procedures and requirements involved, ensuring that potential adoptive parents comprehended the necessary legal framework.

Mr. G. Koteshwar Rao, Program Manager at SARA, delved into the welfare of children and their specific needs. By fostering understanding about the responsibilities and challenges associated with adoption, Rao provided attendees with valuable insights into the adoption process, highlighting its significance and the positive impact it has on the lives of children and families.

Ms. T. Dharmila, Program Officer at SARA, elaborated on the roles and responsibilities of adoption agencies. She detailed how these agencies facilitate the matching process and provide guidance throughout the adoption journey, offering crucial support to both adoptive parents and children.

The event also saw expressions of gratitude from the Anganwadi worker towards SARA and the Directorate of Social Welfare for their ongoing support and collaboration in promoting adoption awareness within the community.

The adoption awareness program not only served to educate attendees about legal adoption but also aimed to dispel myths and misconceptions surrounding the process. By providing comprehensive information and fostering dialogue, SARA and the Directorate of Social Welfare continue to work towards creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for adoption within the community.
