AH&VS Conducts Awareness Programmes on Artificial Insemination in Cattle

The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS) recently organized a series of awareness programmes on Artificial Insemination (AI) in cattle at Broomsvalley, Kadamtala; Adazig; and Nayagarh-2, Baratang. The initiative aimed to educate farmers and PRI members on AI techniques to enhance livestock productivity and promote scientific breeding management across the region.

The programmes witnessed active participation from local farmers and PRI members. At Broomsvalley, Kadamtala, 16 participants attended the session held on Oct. 28, while 5 participants joined at Adazig. The following day, 8 participants took part in the awareness session conducted at Nayagarh-2, Baratang.

During the programmes, veterinary experts elaborated on various aspects of Artificial Insemination, highlighting its benefits in improving milk production, controlling diseases, and ensuring genetic advancement in cattle. The sessions also provided practical guidance on AI procedures and best breeding practices.

The Department urged farmers to avail AI services available at nearby veterinary institutions to improve herd quality and enhance economic returns from dairy and livestock farming.
