Ajoy Bairagi Bats for Road Connectivity to Remote Villages of Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep

Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands met Mr. Amal Birajdar, OSD to Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways and submitted a letter addressed to Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways. Mr. Bairagi in his letter has requested for the construction of motorable roads for the unconnected villages of Shaheed Dweep and Swaraj Dweep.

Mr. Bairagi informed that Laxmi Basti in Swaraj Dweep has a settlement of 50 families and earlier Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had visited the village and had promised a road. He informed that all formalities required for the construction of the road have been completed, but the road has still not been constructed.

Mr. Bairagi also informed that a 750 Mtr stretch of road has not been constructed for the last 60 years at Laxmanpur Village of Shaheed Dweep. He informed that the villagers have developed the village for tourism and there is good scope for further development. 

He requested the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister to resolve the issue.
