Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands today raised the demand of setting up of the Pradesh Council for Andaman and Nicobar Islands in presence of Mr. Amit Shah, Hon’ble Union Minister of Home Affairs and Union Minister of Co-operation at Dr. B.R Ambedkar Auditorium in Port Blair.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi while addressing the BJP Karyakarta Meeting with Mr. Amit Shah said that setting up of Pradesh Council is a long pending demand of the residents of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He added that all residents from Diglipur to Campbell Bay are eagerly waiting and hoping that a Pradesh Council will be established in the Islands.
The demand of the Pradesh Council by the State President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands was welcomed by the BJP Karyakartas by loud clapping.
All political parties, political leaders, eminent citizens from the Islands have been regularly demanding the setting up of a Pradesh Council or Assembly for Andaman and Nicobar Islands so that they can elect their representatives and govern themselves.
The demand for setting up of an Assembly or Pradesh Council is being heard echoing more loudly in the Islands ever since the COVID-19 pandemic.
