Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands met the Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration at his office today and raised various issues related to the Panchayati Raj Institutions.
Mr. Bairagi also submitted a letter to the Chief Secretary. Mr. Bairagi informed the Chief Secretary that the Three Tier Panchayati Raj System has been re-established in the Islands. He added that the re-establishment of the Three-Tier Panchayati Raj System provided the necessary support for the development in rural areas. He further mentioned that as Panchayat Samiti was abolished, the related infrastructure and administrative setup is currently not available with the respective Samitis, due to which newly established Panchayat Samitis are unable to fulfil their responsibilities.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi also informed the Chief Secretary about the bad condition of the rural roads which makes commuting very difficult for the general public.
The Chief Secretary assured to look into the issues raised by the BJP State President.
