Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands to delegate the opportunity of hoisting the National Flag on Independence Day at Village, Tehsil and District Level Functions throughout Andaman and Nicobar Islands to Elected Representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi in his letter has mentioned that the Panchayati Raj Elections were successfully conducted and people have elected their representatives as Pradhan, Pramukh, Adhyaksh etc. at different levels of the Panchayati Raj System and PBMC. He added that it would be befitting for the occasion if Elected Representatives are assigned the job of hoisting the national flag at Village, Tehsil and District levels. He also mentioned that the Local Administration may extend full support to the Elected Representatives by involving all Govt. Departments particularly the Department of Education.
He said this move will also help in achieving the mission of Har Ghar Tiranga.
