Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has wished the Islanders on the occasion of Dhanteras and Diwali.
Every year we celebrate Dhanteras and Diwali with much fanfare but this year due to COVID-19 restrictions we will have to change our ways of celebrating these festivals. Shri. Ajoy Bairgai has asked Islanders to adhere to all COVID-19 protocols as announced by the Govt. to keep them, their families and the society safe. He has reminded the Islanders the two golden rules of maintaining ‘2 gaj ki doori’ and wearing of the face mask when in public.
Further he has asked the residents to be extremely safe while they are burning or handling firecrackers. The safety instructions on the firecrackers should be read properly before using them and any kind of stunts with the firecrackers can prove to be fatal, he said.
Diwali is the festival of lights and may this Diwali bring us out of the darkness this pandemic. For humanity to survive, it is important that that we show no carelessness, until there is a cure for COVID-19. If each and everyone takes responsibility for themselves and their families, we will all come out stronger and next year we will celebrate all our festivals with much more fanfare and without the fear of a pandemic.
