In a stellar display of sporting prowess, Ms. Amrita Minj from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands has secured a Bronze Medal at the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand. Competing in the 2000-metre Women’s Single Scull event, she demonstrated exceptional endurance and skill, earning a podium finish in the prestigious national competition.

The Women’s Single Scull (W1x) is a highly demanding rowing event that requires athletes to cover a 2000-metre distance in the shortest possible time while rowing alone in a narrow boat. It tests not only physical strength but also mental resilience and technical expertise. With her remarkable performance, Amrita Minj has solidified her position as one of the rising stars in Indian rowing.

Her victory was widely celebrated back home. Mr. G. Bhasker, President of the Andaman and Nicobar Rowing Association, congratulated Amrita on her achievement. “She has made the entire Island proud with her hard work and dedication. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the coaches who have played a crucial role in her success,” he said.
