A&N Administration Concludes Two-Day SANGITI Conference with Development Roadmap

The two-day A&N Conference SANGITI – 2025 (Survey of Andaman & Nicobar Governance Initiatives for Transformative Islands), organized by the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, concluded successfully on April 29 at the conference hall of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT).

The Chief Secretary of A&N Administration, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, graced the valedictory session as the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted the significance of the conference in fostering collaboration among officers, officials, and stakeholders from diverse sectors to chart a roadmap for the holistic development of the islands.

Dr. Kumar emphasized that the deliberations during the two-day conference revolved around seven key themes:

1 Tourism

2 Biodiversity

3 Mobility

4 Energy

5 Strategic Security

6 Water and Circular Economy

7 Production Economy – Agriculture and Fisheries

He urged officials to adopt a team-oriented approach to ensure the effective and timely execution of projects under these themes. Stressing the importance of continuity, the Chief Secretary announced that SANGITI would evolve into a sustained series of day-long thematic conferences, enabling focused discussions and innovative ideas for sector-specific development.

Secretary (Planning), Dr. Aman Gupta, provided a comprehensive summary of the conference proceedings, highlighting the key points presented by various departments and stakeholders. He outlined the way forward, calling upon domain departments to prepare implementation plans with defined targets, milestones, and indicative timelines for each deliverable.

The valedictory function concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Secretary (Coordination), Ms. Pallavi Sarkar.
