A&N Administration Signs MoU with DDA for Sustainable Urban Planning and Architectural Excellence for Future Development Projects in A & N Islands

The Andaman and Nicobar Administration has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to collaborate on sustainable urban planning and architectural excellence for future development projects in the islands.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Admiral D.K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Vice Chairman of the Islands Development Agency, along with the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Delhi, Mr. Vinai Kumar Saxena. The agreement aims to enhance infrastructure and contribute to the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat.’

Expressing his gratitude to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Delhi, Admiral Joshi acknowledged the swift action taken to engage DDA as a Consultant and Knowledge Partner. He highlighted that DDA has already prepared a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the redevelopment of the Swaraj Dweep Jetty Project.

The Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands also provided insights into various mega tourism, hospitality, and infrastructure projects being developed under the Islands Development Agency. These projects were recently discussed during the 7th IDA meeting held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah.

The collaboration with DDA is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the region’s infrastructure while ensuring sustainable and well-planned development in the islands. (Story based on a PR)
