A&N Ayush Wing Marks 100-Day Countdown to International Day of Yoga 2026 with Island-Wide Programmes

In the run-up to the International Day of Yoga 2026, the Ayush Wing of the Directorate of Health Services organized 100-day countdown programmes across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, witnessing enthusiastic participation from people across all sections of society. The International Day of Yoga will be celebrated on June 21, 2026.

As part of the observance, yoga sessions were conducted extensively from Diglipur in North Andaman to Campbell Bay in Great Nicobar, covering a wide range of venues including schools, hospitals, educational institutions, Health and Wellness Centres, community halls, and panchayat halls.

The sessions were led by trained Yoga Instructors from the Ayush Wing attached to various institutions. Students, healthcare professionals, and members of the general public actively participated in the programmes, reflecting growing awareness about the benefits of yoga.

The 100-day countdown marks the beginning of a series of activities planned in the lead-up to International Day of Yoga. The initiative aims to promote a healthier lifestyle and encourage people to incorporate yoga into their daily routine.

The programmes across the islands were marked by enthusiastic participation, highlighting the increasing acceptance of yoga as a means of physical and mental well-being.
