The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (A&N BOCWWB) organized a series of Awareness-cum-Registration Camps for construction workers, including migrant workers, at Swaraj Dweep from September 24 to 26.

The initiative aimed to facilitate the registration of workers and spread awareness about the various social security schemes implemented by the Board for their welfare and benefit.

Over the three-day period, seven camps were conducted, drawing active participation from nearly 150–160 construction workers. During the sessions, officials briefed participants on eligibility criteria, benefits, and procedures to access the welfare schemes available under the Board.

The camps saw a positive response, with 85 registration applications received from workers seeking enrolment as beneficiaries. The Board expressed hope that the drive would significantly expand coverage and ensure greater access to social security measures for the construction workforce in the Islands.
