The A&N Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board organized a series of awareness-cum-registration camps for construction workers, including migrant labourers, at Campbell Bay from September 23 to October 3, 2025.

The initiative aimed to facilitate the registration of construction workers and spread awareness about various social security schemes implemented by the Board for the welfare and benefit of registered workers.

A total of nine camps were held during the period, witnessing enthusiastic participation from around 258 construction workers. Officials of the Welfare Board briefed the participants about eligibility criteria, benefits, and procedures to avail the welfare schemes.

As a result of the camps, 63 new registration applications were received from construction workers seeking enrolment as beneficiaries under the Welfare Board.

The awareness drive is part of the Board’s continued efforts to ensure that construction workers, including those from remote areas, are informed and included in welfare initiatives designed for their social and economic upliftment.
