A&N Karatekas Shine at Khelo India Khelo Open International Karate Championship 2026

Karate students from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands delivered an impressive performance at the 4th Khelo India Khelo Open International Karate Championship 2026, held on January 3 and 4 at the Ala Mohan Dass Indoor Stadium, Howrah, West Bengal.

The championship was organised by the Shito Ryu Karate Do Federation and witnessed participation from teams representing various States across India as well as several foreign countries, making it a highly competitive international event.

A contingent of karate students from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, representing a local Karate Dojo, took part in the tournament and brought laurels to the Islands by winning medals in both Kata and Kumite categories.

The medal winners from the A&N Islands include K Aardhya, A Vanshika, A Pavithran, Ankit Kishen, R Roshan Reddy, R Roshini Reddy, Disha Bhowmick, Lalit Jha, J Shivesh, and Chintala Kaviya. All the achievers were awarded medals and certificates for their performances.

According to a press release received here, the participation and success of the A&N karate students at an international-level championship highlights the growing standards of martial arts training in the Islands and reflects their dedication and disciplined preparation.
