The Andaman & Nicobar Police on 17th October 2025, inaugurated the Centre for Traffic Education and Simulation (CTES), a modern facility designed to educate the public especially children on road safety through interactive experiences and simulations.

The Centre was inaugurated by Mr. Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, Director General of Police, A&N Islands, in the presence of senior officers of the Police Department, representatives from the Transport Department, teachers, and students from JNRM, NCC, and various local schools.

As part of the inauguration, the DGP distributed helmets to students, planted a sapling within the premises, and flagged off a children’s cycle rally organized inside the park to promote the message of safe and responsible road use.

Speaking on the occasion, the Superintendent of Police (Traffic) highlighted that the CTES marks a significant upgrade of the erstwhile Children’s Traffic Park, which was originally established in 1994 and rebuilt in 2005 after the tsunami. The new Centre, equipped with state-of-the-art features, aims to make road safety learning engaging and experiential.

The CTES houses a Car Driving Simulation Hall, interactive exhibits, and safety mascots — ‘Hasmukh Lal’ and ‘Kadak Singh’ — designed to connect with young learners. It also includes a Dummy License Zone where participants can earn reward points for demonstrating safe driving practices.

Ensuring safety and compliance, the entire facility is under CCTV surveillance, fitted with fire safety systems, and certified for electrical safety by APWD.

The initiative reflects the A&N Police’s continued commitment to fostering a culture of road safety and responsible driving among citizens, especially the younger generation.
