As part of the 74th Police Raising Week celebrations, the Andaman & Nicobar Police organised a vibrant cultural programme titled “NAMAN” at Marina Park here on Saturday, paying homage to brave martyrs, police personnel and freedom fighters who laid down their lives in service of the nation.

The programme was held in the presence of the Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Mr. Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, who attended the event as the chief guest, along with senior officers of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration and the Police Department. Family members of martyrs, serving and retired police personnel, and a large number of members of the public were also present, reflecting strong police–public bonding and collective respect for the sacrifices made by the force.

The cultural evening featured a series of patriotic songs, brass band performances and colourful cultural dances depicting India’s unity in diversity. An awareness skit on drug abuse, alcoholism and cyber crime was also staged, highlighting the police force’s commitment to social responsibility and community well-being.

The programme formed an integral part of the ongoing Police Raising Week celebrations and reinforced the core values of sacrifice, service and unity, while showcasing the dedication and artistic talents of police personnel beyond their operational duties.
