A&N Tourism Department to Host Inaugural Summer Carnival Festival 2025 at Corbyn’s Cove Beach

The Department of Tourism, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, is all set to launch the first-ever Summer Carnival Festival 2025 at the scenic Corbyn’s Cove Beach on May 10 and 11, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The two-day festival, themed ‘Celebrate the Summer Spirit – Sand, Sea and Smiles’, aims to celebrate island culture, engage youth, and promote eco-conscious tourism.

The carnival is a part of the official tourism calendar launched by the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of A&N Islands. It seeks to boost local tourism while highlighting the cultural richness and environmental heritage of the Islands.

Festival Highlights:

Day 1 – Island Welcome & Cultural Colours (May 10):

• A vibrant Summer Parade at 3:00 PM will kick off the festivities, featuring creatively decorated floats made with eco-friendly materials, inspired by tropical themes. Participants are expected to assemble by 2:00 PM, and the first 50 entries will receive Certificates of Appreciation from the Department.

• A Beach Quiz Competition will be conducted for both locals and tourists.

• The Summer Souk (Bazaar) will offer local handicrafts, coconut-based snacks, tropical drinks, and island delicacies from SVPMC vendors operating kiosks at the beach.

• An Open Talent Platform will be available for performances in singing, dancing, mimicry, and poetry by Islanders and tourists.

Day 2 – Beach Thrill & Eco Fun (May 11):

• An Eco Splash Zone will be set up for a beach clean-up drive led by youth volunteers from PBMC and NYK (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM).

• A Beach Adventure Arena will offer water sports like jet skiing and parasailing at discounted rates.

• The Carnival Game Village will feature interactive games including a treasure hunt and tug of war (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM).

• The Open Talent Platform will continue on Day 2 as well.

Winners of various competitions will be felicitated during the event. The Department of Tourism has extended a warm invitation to the public and tourists to take part in this lively celebration of island life and summer spirit.
