The Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism on 10 December 2025 organised a symbolic earthen-diya lighting ceremony at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (NSCB) Island to mark a historic cultural milestone—the inscription of Deepavali into UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Earthen diyas were illuminated across the island’s heritage structures, transforming the surroundings into a serene, radiant spectacle.
