The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (A&NBOCWWB) conducted a series of Awareness-cum-Registration Camps for construction workers across Gram Panchayat Sippighat and Gram Panchayat Guptapara, along with adjoining construction sites, from November 1 to 8.
Over the course of seven camps, construction workers participated in large numbers to learn about various welfare provisions available to them. Officials from the Welfare Board briefed attendees on eligibility requirements, the range of benefits offered under different schemes, and the process for enrolment. The initiative aimed to ensure that more workers are brought under the ambit of welfare coverage and are able to access social security benefits meant for their protection and upliftment.
