The much-anticipated ANCO FEST–SPARDHA 2.0 began with grandeur, marking the start of ten days filled with sports, culture, and creativity. The festival was inaugurated by Mr. Chandra Bhusan Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary of A&N Administration, who attended as the chief guest. Also present at the vibrant opening ceremony were Mr. L. Kumar, IAS, Secretary of Education, Mr. Vikram Singh, Director of Higher Education, and the Principals of various Higher Education Institutions. The event officially commenced with the chief guest declaring the festival open. This was followed by the Students’ Council President administering the oath to the ten contingents, symbolizing sportsmanship and unity among participants.
The festival’s sporting events kicked off with an electrifying football match between ANCOL and DBRAIT, where ANCOL emerged victorious. Teams from TGCE and Pondicherry University also put up remarkable performances, setting the stage for fierce competition in the coming days. Alongside the sports events, cultural competitions unfolded at Andaman Law College, where students displayed remarkable creativity. Events such as Technical Poster Making and Sculpture Making from Waste attracted enthusiastic participation.
In the Technical Poster Making contest, DBRAIT secured the first and third positions, while DIET Garacharma claimed second place. The Sculpture Making from Waste competition, themed ‘Beauty from Waste’, celebrated sustainability and artistic innovation. Pondicherry University, Brookshahbad, claimed the top spot, followed by TGCE in second place and DIET Garacharma in third. Students transformed discarded materials into stunning works of art, showcasing their ingenuity and environmental consciousness.
As the first day concluded, the energy and enthusiasm of the participants set the tone for an eventful festival ahead. With ANCOL’s football triumph and the awe-inspiring artistic displays, ANCO FEST–SPARDHA 2.0 is poised to be an unforgettable celebration of sportsmanship, creativity, and camaraderie.
