In a powerful show of solidarity and commitment to raising awareness about AIDS, the ANCOL Red Ribbon Club, in collaboration with the Andaman AIDS Control Society (ANACS), organized a 5 km marathon titled ‘Red Run.’ The event, held at the ANCOL campus, culminated at Corbyn’s Cove Beach, drawing participation from both students and staff.
The marathon was flagged off by Dr. BSV Meera Setty, Principal (i/c) of ANCOL. Students eagerly took part in the race, while staff members joined in to promote fitness. In the male category, N. Kartick Raja clinched first place, with M. Manoj Kumar securing the second position. The female category saw Ms. Yukthi emerge as the winner, followed closely by Ms. Riya Kujur in second place.
Before the start of the race, Dr. Jochibed Vincent, Nodal Officer of the Red Ribbon Club, delivered a brief but impactful speech. She emphasized the importance of the event in promoting AIDS awareness, reducing stigma, and fostering a supportive community for those affected by the disease. The ‘Red Run’ marathon stands as a testament to the dedication of the ANCOL Red Ribbon Club and ANACS in making a positive impact on society, highlighting their ongoing efforts to educate and unite the community in the fight against AIDS.
