Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament representing the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, has made a fervent plea to the Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare, urging the allocation of ten seats for M.Sc. Nursing in colleges across Mainland India to benefit students from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma underscored the pressing need for more M.Sc. Nursing seats, highlighting that while there exist administrative quotas for B.Sc. Nursing, there is a noticeable scarcity of M.Sc. Nursing seats accessible to aspiring students from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands who wish to pursue advanced education in this field.
Nursing, being a profession of paramount importance in the healthcare system, has garnered significant interest among the local youth. Pursuing an M.Sc. Nursing degree not only opens doors to future career prospects but also fosters individual growth. However, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma pointed out that securing admission to M.Sc. Nursing courses in private mainland colleges poses a considerable challenge.
Recognising the aspirations and potential of the students from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Member of Parliament has called upon the Hon’ble Minister to consider reserving ten seats for M.Sc. Nursing in various prestigious colleges across Mainland India. This move, he believes, will not only fulfil the educational aspirations of the region’s youth but also bolster the healthcare sector by producing skilled professionals in the field of nursing.
