The Andaman and Nicobar Police have embarked on a pioneering initiative to tackle cyber threats head-on with a cohesive strategy. Dedicated to fostering a resilient defence against cybercrimes, the Andaman and Nicobar Police is extending an invitation to the residents of the A&N Islands to actively engage as Cyber Volunteers. In today’s interconnected world, the specter of cyber threats looms large, posing significant risks to individuals, businesses, and national security.

Recognizing the imperative of collective action, the A&N Police is keen on forging a unified front against the escalating menace of cybercrime, advocating for a collaborative approach to prevention and mitigation. Encouraging residents of the A&N Islands to step forward and contribute to this crucial mission by becoming Cyber Volunteers, the Police emphasizes the pivotal role they can play in preventing, detecting, and mitigating cybercrimes within their communities.

Specifically, the Police is seeking individuals to serve as Unlawful Content Flaggers and Cyber Awareness Promoters. Unlawful Content Flaggers will aid in identifying and reporting illicit online content, thereby safeguarding our digital environment. Simultaneously, Cyber Awareness Promoters will raise awareness about cybersecurity best practices, empowering fellow citizens to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.

Application forms are readily available at the nearest Police Station and Cyber Crime Police Station. Together, the community can construct a safer and more resilient digital ecosystem for the A&N Islands and beyond. Join the Andaman and Nicobar Police in their mission to create a safer cyberspace. The deadline for form submission is February 29, 2024.

This initiative marks a significant step towards bolstering cybersecurity efforts within the region, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in combating cyber threats. With collective action and vigilance, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands can fortify their defences and thrive in an increasingly digital landscape.
