In a move aimed at further enhancing digitization efforts and improving convenience for Islanders visiting the mainland, the booking of rooms in Kolkata’s Andaman Bhawan, located in Salt Lake, has been made available online. The newly launched online booking system can now be accessed through the portal (Beta Version) with the URL: http://andssw1.and.nic.in/AndamanHouse.

Similar to the successful implementation in Chennai’s KK Nagar and Anna Nagar Bhawans, this online platform enables interested commuters to book rooms at the Andaman Bhawan. To make a reservation, individuals can simply visit the portal and submit their e-application form online. In addition, the booking amount, including applicable GST, can be conveniently paid at the Reception Counter of the Directorate of IP&T.

The introduction of this online booking system for Andaman Bhawan in Kolkata marks another significant step toward streamlining the process for Islanders and visitors from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. By eliminating the need for physical bookings, the digitization initiative aims to provide a hassle-free experience and ensure greater accessibility for those seeking accommodation in Kolkata.

This user-friendly portal is expected to enhance efficiency and reduce administrative burdens while catering to the growing demand for accommodations at the Andaman Bhawan. Islanders can now conveniently plan their visits to Kolkata by securing their room reservations through the newly implemented online platform. As the system operates in its beta version, further enhancements and improvements are expected to be made based on user feedback and requirements.

The digitization of booking processes for Bhawans in major cities signifies a broader trend toward modernization and the integration of technology in public services. It is anticipated that more government facilities and accommodations will adopt online systems, streamlining operations and enhancing convenience for citizens in the digital age.
