Highlighting growing public concerns over deteriorating road conditions, Andaman Ektha Manch has submitted a formal request to the Executive Engineer of the Road Construction Division (RCD), Wimberlygunj, seeking urgent repair of the road stretch from the AE Office at Bambooflat Junction to the Community Health Centre (CHC) Bambooflat.

According to the representation, the road has been in a severely damaged condition with multiple potholes, making daily movement risky for commuters. The organisation stated that the stretch becomes slippery during rains, posing a major hazard for school students, two-wheeler riders, ambulances and emergency medical transportation.

In addition to the road, Andaman Ektha Manch also raised concern regarding the damaged CC footpath inside the CHC premises, particularly the route from the staff quarters to the Dialysis Unit. The group stated that the footpath is the only access route for autos and other vehicles carrying patients, especially those undergoing dialysis and critical care. The damaged and uneven pathway is reportedly causing difficulties for patients, attendants and elderly visitors.

Terming the situation “urgent and concerning,” the organisation has urged the department to take immediate action to ensure safe access to the health facility.
