As part of the nationwide TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, the District Health Society (South Andaman), through its National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) in coordination with the Directorate of Health Services, organised an awareness session on Tuberculosis (TB) at Andaman Law College today.
Dr. Arjun Sivadas K K, Senior Medical Officer, Nodal DRTB Centre, GB Pant Hospital, sensitised students and faculty members on TB prevention, symptoms, and treatment. A video on the Ni-kshay Mitra Yojana was also screened, highlighting the importance of community participation in extending nutritional and emotional support to TB patients.
On the occasion, Dr. P. V. Nagendra Sarma, Principal, Andaman Law College, administered the TB Mukt Bharat Pledge to the gathering, reaffirming their commitment to eliminating the disease and building a healthier nation.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and underscored the crucial role of youth in spreading awareness and contributing to India’s mission of achieving a TB-free future.
