Ms. Aliya Majeed, a fourth-year B.A. LL.B. student of Andaman Law College, has been selected to speak at the National Unity Day celebrations to be held at Samvidhan Sadan, New Delhi, on October 31, 2025, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Aliya will be part of a 36-member team comprising students from various States and Union Territories across India. Among them, only 12 students have been chosen to speak on the life and contributions of Sardar Patel, and Aliya Majeed stands proudly among this distinguished group.

The event is being organized by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with Mera Yuva Bharat (My Bharat). Aliya earned this recognition after securing the fourth position in the Viksit Bharat State-level elocution competition held at the State Secretariat in March 2025. Notably, the top three positions were also bagged by students from Andaman Law College, all of whom represented the Andaman and Nicobar Islands at the National Youth Parliament 2025 in New Delhi.

Expressing pride over her achievement, Prof. P.V. Nagendra Sarma, Principal of Andaman Law College, extended his congratulations to Aliya. Mr. Sukharanjan Biswas, Joint Director, My Bharat, Dr. Rajiv Mondal, NSS Programme Officer, and members of the teaching faculty also conveyed their best wishes to her for this prestigious opportunity.
