Aliya Majeed, a fourth-year BALLB student of Andaman Law College, proudly represented the Andaman and Nicobar Islands at the National Unity Day celebrations held at the Parliament Bhavan, New Delhi, on October 31, to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

She was among 36 youth delegates selected from all States and Union Territories across India for the prestigious event. Aliya earned this opportunity based on her outstanding performance in the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament state rounds conducted in March.

Out of the 36 participants, only 12 were chosen to deliver speeches on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel during the session, and Aliya was among the distinguished few selected after a screening of recorded video submissions.

The event was graced by the Hon’ble Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Mr. Om Birla, and the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Mr. C.P. Radhakrishnan, who interacted with the participants and shared words of encouragement.

In his address, Mr. Om Birla hailed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as “the architect of national unity and integrity,” highlighting that his vision and sacrifices laid the foundation for a united India. He also commended the participating youth for exemplifying the ideals of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.

Principal of Andaman Law College, Dr. P.V. Nagendra Sarma, and Joint Director, MyBharat, Mr. Sukharanjan Biswas, congratulated Aliya Majeed for bringing laurels to the institution and the Islands.
