Andaman & Nicobar Administration, in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), New Delhi, is organising a two-day training program focused on the Online RTI Portal at Sri Vijaya Puram. The event, on November 13 and 14, 2024, aims to equip Master Trainers and other stakeholders with the necessary skills to navigate and utilize the portal effectively.
The training sessions are being led by two prominent resource persons: Mr. Y. V. Ramana, Senior Director (IT), retired Consultant at NIC-DoPT, and Mr. Abhishek, Project Manager at NIC-DoPT. The program is designed to enhance understanding and implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act in the digital era.
The program was inaugurated by Ms. Sapna Priya, Director (Urban Development), who graced the occasion as the chief guest. Also in attendance were Mr. Shivaji Mukherjee, State Informatics Officer (SIO) at NIC, and Mr. Sendil Kumar, Joint Director at NIC. A total of 102 participants from various sectors are taking part in the training.
The opening session was followed by a warm welcome address from Mr. K. Palani, Office Superintendent of the Administration and Training Wing. The program on 13th November 2024, concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Shailaja, Assistant Secretary (AR & Trg.), A&N Administration.
This initiative is expected to strengthen the RTI implementation framework across the islands, enhancing transparency and accountability within the administration.
