In a proud moment for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, three trailblazers from the region were recognised at the Atal Foundation Samman Samaroh for their outstanding contributions to society. The prestigious event, held at the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya in New Delhi, celebrated excellence in social welfare, cultural preservation, and sustainable development.
Mr. Casper James, a dedicated Tehsildar, received the esteemed Atal Bhushan Award for his groundbreaking work in Historical Tribal Social Networking. His efforts have strengthened social harmony and empowered tribal communities through innovative and inclusive initiatives.
Another proud recipient of the Atal Bhushan Award was Mr. K. Ramdas, State General Secretary of the BJP, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Recognised for his unwavering commitment to social welfare, Mr. Ramdas Ji played a pivotal role in revitalising the seashell handicrafts industry, empowering artisans, and preserving cultural heritage.
The Atal Gaurav Samman Award was conferred upon Mr. Awez Khan, founder of Experience Andamans. His visionary leadership has transformed the region’s tourism landscape, creating countless job opportunities and fostering sustainable tourism practices.
Mr. Azizur Rahman, State President of Atal Foundation-ANI, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Aparna Singh, National President, and Mr. Shyam Jaju, Chief Patron of the Atal Foundation. “These awards not only honour individual achievements but also highlight the immense potential of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands to contribute to India’s growth,” he said.
Mr. Rahman extended his congratulations to the awardees, praising their dedication to their respective fields. He added, “Their accomplishments inspire us to work towards the vision of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji—a harmonious and prosperous India.”
The awards underscore the growing contributions of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands to nation-building, setting a benchmark for excellence in social welfare, community empowerment, and sustainable development.
