Tourism remains a top priority for the Andaman & Nicobar Administration as it continues to unveil ambitious plans to boost tourism activities across the stunning archipelago. In a significant move, the Administration has crafted comprehensive policies for a range of tourism offerings, including Caravan Tourism, House Boat Tourism, Bird Watching, Beach Shacks, and Luxury Tents.
The Caravan Tourism Policy, Bird Watching Policy, and Beach Shacks Policy have already been made accessible to the public, and the Administration eagerly welcomes comments and suggestions from tourism stakeholders and the general public. The deadline for the submission of feedback on the Caravan Tourism Policy and Bird Watching Policy is set for September 12, 2023, while comments on the Beach Shacks Policy will be accepted until September 20, 2023.
In line with its commitment to expand the tourism horizon, the Administration is also contemplating the opening of new islands to the general public and tourists. Among these, Cinque Island is under consideration for day tourism, promising visitors an opportunity to explore its natural beauty and rich biodiversity.
These initiatives reflect the Administration’s dedication to promoting responsible and sustainable tourism in the region. Several other proposals are concurrently progressing, further enhancing the tourism landscape of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. These include: Blue Flag Certification, Inter-Island Cruise Tourism, Simplification of IV Rules, Relaxation of Dry Days, International Air Connectivity, Improvement of Beach Amenities, Casino Regulation, Seaplane Connectivity and International Standard Facilities.
The Andaman & Nicobar Administration’s unwavering commitment to sustainable tourism and the enhancement of visitor experiences continues to shape the future of this picturesque archipelago. These initiatives promise to further establish the islands as a must-visit destination for travellers seeking natural beauty, adventure, and cultural experiences.
