The Andaman & Nicobar Islands has taken a significant step towards fostering citizen engagement and participation in governance with the launch of its MyGov Instance. The official website, https://andaman.mygov.in/, has gone live, offering residents of the archipelago a platform to voice their opinions, share ideas, and actively participate in policy formulation.

In a bid to kickstart this initiative and celebrate the natural beauty of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a photography contest titled ‘Capture the Beauty of Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ has been announced. This contest is open for participation from September 13th to October 13th, 2023.

The newly established *Andaman & Nicobar Islands MyGov Instance* allows the local administration to utilise the Government of India’s Citizen Engagement Platform. This platform enables government officials to engage with citizens effectively, seeking their opinions on a wide range of issues, and encouraging public participation in policy decisions related to public interest and welfare.

Government departments are encouraged to upload various activities on the ‘Andaman & Nicobar Islands MyGov Instance.’ These activities may include contests, discussions, polls, blogs, and talks that aim to facilitate decision-making processes and enhance governance by involving the community. Committees and teams have been constituted to oversee the implementation of this Union Territory instance of MyGov, ensuring active citizen participation and awareness among residents.
