In a show of gratitude for their contributions to the tourism industry of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Member of Parliament Mr. Kudleep Rai Sharma attended the World Tourism Day celebrations at Veer Savarkar International Airport (VSI) on 27th September 2023. This event, a collaborative effort by the Tourism Association of Andaman & Nicobar (TAAN) and various stakeholders, aimed to recognise the significance of tourism in the region.
World Tourism Day, an annual global observance on September 27th, provided an apt backdrop for shedding light on the substantial impact of tourism on the local economy, culture, and environment of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
During the ceremony, Mr. Sharma lauded the pivotal role played by airlines operating in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in promoting tourism and connectivity. He took the opportunity to personally extend tokens of appreciation and certificates of commendation to the dedicated staff members representing all airlines in the region.
The MP’s gesture was met with heartfelt appreciation and gratitude from the airline representatives, who reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to delivering world-class services to both Islanders and tourists alike. Their dedication plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Andaman & Nicobar Islands continue to thrive as a popular tourist destination.
As the Andaman & Nicobar Islands strive to recover and rejuvenate their tourism sector following the challenges posed by the global pandemic, such recognition and support from public representatives like Mr. Kudleep Rai Sharma further strengthen the resolve of those working tirelessly to boost the region’s tourism industry.
