Andaman & Nicobar Police Successfully Concludes Coastal Security Training for 307 New Recruits in Collaboration with National Academy of Coastal Policing

In a milestone achievement, the Andaman & Nicobar Police has concluded a rigorous two-week Coastal Security training program for 307 newly recruited police personnel. Held at the Police Training School, Prothrapur, this collaborative initiative with the National Academy of Coastal Policing (NACP), Okha, Gujarat marks a significant step towards enhancing maritime security in India’s island territories.

Led by Mr. Ram Kishan, Assistant Commandant of NACP, the training encompassed a blend of theoretical insights and practical sessions crucial for effective coastal policing. Topics covered ranged from international maritime laws and engine systems to boat operations and the Maritime Zones of India Act 1976. The curriculum also delved into historical coastal crime trends and factors impacting coastal security, ensuring a comprehensive understanding among participants.

The program culminated in a distinguished closing ceremony attended by Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastava, IPS, Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, alongside senior officials from the A&N Police and Indian Coast Guard. At the ceremony, NACP faculties were honoured with certificates and mementos in recognition of their invaluable contribution. Additionally, commendation certificates were awarded to the top performers among the recruits, highlighting their exceptional dedication and proficiency.

Highlighting the significance of the training, discussions between the DGP, A&N Police and NACP officials centered on upgrading PMF vessels with advanced equipment and fostering future collaborations in training and capacity building efforts.
