In a concerted effort to fortify the sporting prowess of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, a congregation of distinguished sportspersons and coaches specialising in Rowing, Kayaking, and Canoeing was convened at the TSG Emerald View Hotel. The primary agenda was to gather insights and recommendations aimed at enhancing the island’s performance in the National Games.
Chaired by the President of A&N Rowing Association, Mr. TSG Bhasker, the assembly witnessed the presence of luminaries such as Retired Deputy Director of SAI, Mr. Joy Kumar Roy, and Retired Senior Coach Mr. Yesudasan. Additionally, the gathering included Secretary of A&N Rowing Association, Mr. Akash Adhikari, and a cohort of revered sportspersons comprising Ms. Sandhya Kispotta, Ms. Regina Kiro, Ms. Srimati Bishnoi, Mr. Rama Rao, Mr. Venkat, Ms. Arpita Roy, Ms. Mamta Tirkey, Ms. Abha Manjula, Ms. Puspam, Ms. Milka Manaf, Mr. Manish Kumar Tiwari, among other notable figures.
During the deliberations, participants candidly shared their insights and suggestions, intending to harness the latent potential of Andaman & Nicobar Islands while endeavouring to ascend the medal tally both nationally and on the international stage.
Mr. TSG Bhasker, along with the esteemed dignitaries present, hailed the exceptional achievement of Rowing prodigy S. Jagdish. His recent triumph in clinching the Gold Medal at the “24th Sub-Junior and 6th Inter-State Challenge Sprint National Rowing Championship,” hosted in Hyderabad, was lauded as a testament to the island’s sporting mettle.
The collaborative effort and invaluable counsel exchanged during this gathering stand as a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of these individuals toward fortifying Andaman & Nicobar’s footprint in the realm of sports, aiming for greater glories in future tournaments and championships.
