The Andaman tourism industry left an indelible mark at the 38th Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) Convention, held at the ITC Hotel Rama International in Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) from September 29th to October 1st, 2023.
Prominent figures from Andaman’s thriving tourism sector graced the event with their presence. The delegation included Mr. M. Vinod, President of the Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), Mr. Mohd. Jadwet, Chairman of the Andaman chapter of IATO, Mr. Saikat Biswas, Joint Secretary of AATO, and Mr. T.J. Mathew, Assistant Manager from the Department of IP&T, representing the Department of Tourism, A&N Administration. Their participation enriched the convention with valuable insights.
During the event, Mr. Vinod extended his heartfelt gratitude to the A&N Administration for its unwavering support in promoting tourism in the Andaman Islands.
Spanning three dynamic days, the convention had a primary focus on elevating tourism prospects across the nation. An impressive gathering of 900-1000 delegates, including representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, state officials, industry leaders, and experts from the tourism and hospitality sectors, was expected. This congregation of expertise was poised to spark significant discussions and collaborations that would shape the future of Indian tourism.
Speaking about the convention, Mr. Vinod stated, “The 38th IATO Convention held great promise for the Andaman tourism sector. It provided a special platform for stakeholders to connect, share ideas, and build partnerships that will undoubtedly impact the industry positively.”
