ANDC Candidate Manoj Paul Releases Manifesto; Manifesto Features 100% Job Reservation, Pradesh Council with Executive Power/Assembly and 70 Other Promises

Mr. Manoj Paul, the Andaman Nicobar Democratic Congress Candidate from Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency Seat, has unveiled his 72-point manifesto ahead of the upcoming elections.

Mr. Manoj Paul’s Manifesto covers a wide array of promises across various sectors, addressing the pressing concerns of the local population. 

Education & Employment for Islanders

One of the significant highlights of the manifesto is the proposal for 100% Job Reservation for the youth of Andaman and Nicobar Islands in Non-Gazetted posts under A&N Administration & Central Govt. Organisations. Additionally, provisions for better school facilities, hostel infrastructure improvement, and enhanced stipends for students have been outlined.

PRI, PBMC & Pradesh Council

Mr. Paul’s manifesto also advocates for the establishment of the Andaman Nicobar Pradesh Council with Executive Powers or Assembly, aiming to empower local governance and address public grievances effectively.

Road & Water Transportation

Improvements in road and water transportation infrastructure, including the construction of NH-4 and the expansion of flight and boat services, are promised to enhance connectivity within the islands.

Water & Electricity

The manifesto pledges to ensure regular power supply, decrease in electricity charges, and the development of new water sources to address the persistent water crisis in the region.

Government Servant: 

Timely disbursement of financial benefits and sanction of leave, Working Men and Women’s Hostel in Port Blair, Fixing Accountability of Bureaucrats, promotion of local officers and Health Scheme of Government Servants are the pledges featured in the manifesto for Govt. Servants. 

Health Care for All

Healthcare reforms feature prominently in the manifesto, with proposals for upgrading medical facilities, extending health insurance schemes, and organising medical camps in remote areas.

Land

Reducing Circle Rate for land registration  and regularisation of forest encroachment (pre-2002) features prominently in the manifesto.

Zero Tolerance on Narcotic Drugs

A commitment to making the islands drug-free and cracking down on drug peddlers.

Social Status

Efforts to address social issues such as the extension of OBC status, reconstitution of the Pradesh Council, and settlement of community-related issues.

Miscellaneous Issues

Various other promises ranging from addressing illegal migration to strengthening the agricultural sector and improving tourist amenities showcase the comprehensive nature of the manifesto.
