Andaman and Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation Limited recently donated two ambulances as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
The ambulances were flagged of on 16th February 2023 and were handed over to the District Health Society, Nicobar District.
One Ambulance has been deployed at BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar and the other one has been deployed at Primary Health Centre, Campbell Bay.
The ambulances will for sure benefit the local residents of the respective Islands and will help the health department in dealing with any emergency promptly.
In India, Corporate Social Responsibility has become mandatory through the provisions under Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013. Every company that is private limited or public limited, has a net worth of Rs. 500 crore or more, or a turnover of Rs. 1,000 crore or more, or a net profit of Rs. 5 crore or more during the immediately preceding financial year has to spend on CSR.
