In response to an RTI Application by Nicobar Times, ANIIDCO Ltd (Andaman and Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation Limited), a government of India undertaking serving as the sole distributor of Alcohol Products in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, has revealed staggering sales figures for the year 2023.
Operating 17 IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor) Stores spread across the archipelago, ANIIDCO Ltd. achieved a combined gross sale of INR 181,99,61,237.56 (One Hundred Eighty-One Crores Ninety-Nine Lakhs Sixty-One Thousand Two Hundred Thirty-Seven Rupees and fifty-six paisa) between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023.
The highest gross sale of INR 19,26,90,878.12 was recorded at the ANIIDCO IMFL Shop situated at Bhatubasthi during the aforementioned period. Conversely, the lowest gross sale of INR 3,04,51,820.04 was observed at the ANIIDCO IMFL Shop located at Kadamtala. Notably, the Kadamtala store had only operated for five months in the entire year due to its recent establishment.
It is imperative to note that the reported sales represent only the combined gross sale of alcohol from ANIIDCO Ltd. IMFL Stores and do not include the sales from bars and other establishments selling alcohol in the Islands apart from the ANIIDCO IMFL Stores.

The significant sales figures underscore the substantial demand for alcohol products within the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
