The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation (ANIIDCO) has launched the ANIIDCO Island Development Fellowship Programme (AIDFP) and an Internship Programme aimed at strengthening professional capacity and promoting sustainable, context-sensitive development across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The initiatives have been introduced as ANIIDCO continues to implement key development projects in areas such as eco-tourism, infrastructure development, marine and coastal planning, environmental sustainability, and urban development. Through these programmes, the Corporation intends to engage young professionals and domain experts who can contribute structured technical, analytical, and creative inputs aligned with the unique ecological and geographical characteristics of the islands.

Under the Fellowship Programme, four qualified professionals will be engaged for a period of nine months, which may be extended up to twelve months. The Internship Programme, meanwhile, will offer short-term exposure to ten students and recent graduates from relevant disciplines.

Both initiatives are designed as non-employment, outcome-oriented engagements, focusing on innovation, sustainability, field-based research, documentation, and the creation of institutional knowledge. ANIIDCO stated that the programmes aim to build a future-ready talent pool while generating high-quality outputs to support long-term development planning in the islands.
