In a move aimed at supporting local dairy farmers and ensuring the sustainability of milk production in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation (ANIIDCO) has announced a revision in the procurement price of raw milk. Effective May 1, 2025, the procurement rate will be increased from ₹52 to ₹56 per litre.

The decision comes after persistent demands from dairy farmers in South Andaman and North & Middle Andaman, where ANIIDCO oversees milk collection. The increase is intended to provide better remuneration to milk producers and strengthen the local dairy sector.

Aligned with the revised procurement cost, ANIIDCO has also updated the retail prices of its milk and milk products. From May 1, the price of cow milk (1-litre pack) will rise from ₹86 to ₹90. Toned milk in 500 ml pouches will be priced at ₹37, up from ₹35. Double toned milk (1-litre) will cost ₹70, up from ₹66. The price of curd will also see an increase — the 200 gm cup will now be sold at ₹33, up from ₹32, and the 200 gm pouch will be available at ₹25, up from ₹21.

ANIIDCO has reiterated its commitment to maintaining the quality of its dairy products while ensuring that milk producers across the Islands receive fair and sustainable prices. The corporation stated that these adjustments are essential to continue offering high-quality products to consumers without compromising the livelihoods of local farmers.
