The Milk Division of the Andaman Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation Limited (ANIIDCO) marked another significant milestone in its efforts to enhance public service delivery with the inauguration of its second exclusive Milk Parlour. This initiative, under the guidance of Managing Director Ms. Nandini Paliwal, IAS, aims to cater to the increasing demand for quality dairy products within the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The official ceremony took place on November 6th near Khaitan Kalyana Mandapam, Community Hall, Junglighat, and was attended by Executive Directors, General Managers, and ANIIDCO staff. The Milk Division’s first Milk Parlour, which opened at STS Bus Terminus, Mohanpura, Port Blair, paved the way for this expansion due to its remarkable success in serving the community.
The newly inaugurated Junglighat Milk Parlour will offer a variety of dairy products, including Double Toned Milk and three flavours of yogurt (Mango, Strawberry, and Blueberry) in 100 gm cups. This diversification in product offerings is a response to the increasing health consciousness among consumers, with Double Toned Milk catering to those concerned about fat and calorie intake.
These products will be available not only in the newly established Milk Parlour but also at all accredited ANIIDCO retail outlets, providing convenient access to the island’s residents.
In a move towards environmental responsibility and sustainability, ANIIDCO has introduced an innovative Buy Back Scheme for empty milk pouches. Customers can deposit 50 empty milk pouches at any retail store accredited by ANIIDCO and, in return, receive a 500 ml milk pouch as a reward. This scheme encourages recycling and rewards participants for their contributions to a cleaner environment. The collected pouches will be either recycled or upcycled to create new eco-friendly products, such as bags and stationery, in collaboration with the Port Blair Municipal Corporation (PBMC).
ANIIDCO encourages all customers to actively participate in the Buy Back Scheme, promoting environmental responsibility and the reduction of plastic pollution in the region.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several key figures, including Ms. Pallavi Sarkar, IAS, Executive Director (Milk Division), Mr. C. Arvind, Executive Director (Finance), Mr. Shiv Singh Meena, General Manager (Milk Division), Mr. Mohammed Pervaiz, General Manager (Projects), Mr. Basuki Nath Sah, Co-Secretary-cum-GM(P&A), Mr. P Raghu Ram, Chief Finance Officer, and other ANIIDCO officials.
