Animal Husbandry Dept. Announces One-Month Training Programmes Across Islands

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services has announced a series of one-month training programmes in Dairy, Poultry, Goatery, Fodder Cultivation, and Piggery Management for the year 2025–2026. These programmes aim to equip interested individuals, including rural and urban residents, with scientific farming skills to promote livelihood generation and economic growth.

Coordinated by the Animal Husbandry Training Institute (AHTI), Dollygunj, the training sessions will be held at various livestock and poultry farms across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The training locations include:

  • North & Middle Andaman: Sitanagar, Webi, and Basantipur
  • Nicobar District: Campbell Bay, Kamorta, and Car Nicobar
  • South Andaman: CLF Nanjappa Nagar, Little Andaman, and CLF Dollygunj

These skill development programmes are designed to promote scientific methods of animal husbandry, helping farmers and entrepreneurs meet growing demand while enhancing productivity and profitability.
