Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) has filed a formal complaint against BJP MP Bishnu Pada Ray, accusing him of making derogatory and communal statements during a recent public meeting. The complaint alleges that the MP used “derogatory, unparliamentary, and disgraceful” language against the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and promoted enmity based on religion.
The incident in question occurred during a public gathering at Basantipur in the North & Middle Andaman district. In response, senior Congress leaders, led by ANTCC President Rangalal Halder and ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman TSG Bhasker, arrived at the Aberdeen Police Station on Saturday evening. The leaders submitted a letter to the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Aberdeen Police Station, requesting the lodging of an FIR against Bishnu Pada Ray for his alleged communal and unconstitutional remarks.
The Congress leaders reached the police station at 6:00 PM and handed over the complaint letter, urging the police to take immediate action against the BJP MP. The ANTCC has expressed strong disapproval of the statements made by Ray and is calling for accountability and legal action to address the issue.
The situation remains tense as the Congress Party awaits further developments from the authorities regarding their complaint.
