Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) honoured the 80th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Bharat Ratna, Rajiv Gandhi, with a dignified commemoration on Monday. To pay tribute to the late leader, the ANTCC organised a solemn blood donation camp at Gandhi Bhawan, Port Blair.
The event saw a large turnout, particularly from the youth across various wards and panchayats of South Andaman, who came together to donate blood in a gesture of service and respect. Their contributions are expected to help save numerous lives, embodying the spirit of selflessness that Rajiv Gandhi championed throughout his life.
ANTCC President, Mr. Rangalal Halder, and Campaign Committee Chairman, Mr. TSG Bhasker, led the proceedings, recalling Rajiv Gandhi’s pivotal role in nation-building and his lasting impact on the Congress party. They highlighted his visionary leadership and the enduring legacy he left behind.
Several senior Congress leaders and workers were also in attendance, reinforcing the significance of service and social responsibility, particularly on this meaningful occasion. The blood donation camp not only served as a tribute to Rajiv Gandhi but also as a reminder of the values he upheld—service, unity, and progress.
