Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) today solemnly observed the 60th death anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, at Gandhi Bhavan in Port Blair.
The commemoration ceremony was led by ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder, who began the event by garlanding a portrait of Nehru. This was followed by floral tributes from various prominent members of the ANTCC, including Chairman of the Campaign Committee Mr. TSG Bhasker, AICC Member Mr. Sunder Rao, ANTCC Spokesperson Mr. Tamil Selvan, Congress Seva Dal Chief Organizer Mr. T. Wajith and its member Mr. Mohd. Fahim, Mahila Coordinator (South Andaman) Mrs. Zubaida Begum, Youth Congress Vice President Mr. Abhibhusan Ghosh, and Congress leaders Mr. Gandhi Raj, Mr. Sadab Riaz, and Mr. KT Nambi.
During his address to the gathering, Mr. Halder reminisced about the remarkable achievements and contributions of Pandit Nehru. He highlighted Nehru’s pivotal role in shaping modern India, emphasising his enduring legacy as a visionary leader who laid the foundations for the country’s political, economic, and social landscape.
The occasion was marked by heartfelt remembrances and reflections on Nehru’s profound impact, serving as a reminder of his significant contributions to the nation. The event concluded with attendees reaffirming their commitment to the values and vision that Nehru championed throughout his life.
