In response to growing concerns regarding the nutritional quality of meals provided to patients at GB Pant Hospital, Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress (ANTCC) President, Mr. Rangalal Halder, has taken a proactive stance by formally addressing the issue with the Secretary (Health) of the A & N Administration.
Highlighting the deficiencies in meal variety and nutritional balance, Mr. Halder emphasized the critical necessity of offering a well-balanced diet to support patient recovery and overall well-being within GB Pant Hospital. Particularly, he raised concerns over the absence of vegetable items and the provision of only one item during afternoon hours, which he identified as detrimental to patients’ nutritional needs.
“Prioritizing the nutritional requirements of patients is paramount,” stated Mr. Halder, underlining the importance of ensuring that meals provided are not only diverse but also rich in the necessary nutrients crucial for patient recovery.
Recognizing the indispensable role of nutrition in patient care, Mr. Halder called for prompt action to revamp the meal service at GB Pant Hospital, with the aim of significantly improving patient outcomes and satisfaction within the medical facility.
The call for improved meal service comes amidst a broader push for enhanced healthcare standards across the region, reflecting ANTCC’s commitment to advocating for the welfare of patients within Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
